Two Door Cinema Club continue their disco bonanza with ‘Satellite’.
‘Satellite’ is the second single from the band’s upcoming album, ‘False Alarm’, which is due to be released on the 21st June. The song follows the first single for the album: ‘Talk’.
‘Satellite’ continues from the band’s bombastic electronic sound of their third album ‘Gameshow’. It is a groovy song that will fit well on a cheesy party playlist. The music video for the song is also unashamedly cheesy, with a Star Trek/USS Callister aesthetic.
However fans of the guitar-driven first album (‘Tourist History’) maybe underwhelmed by the latest single, and may even claim that the band have sold out by embracing more of a radio-friendly style. Sure, ‘Satellite’ is a far-cry from the melodic guitar driven songs of the band’s earlier years, such as ‘What You Know’ and ‘Undercover Martyn’, with its more electronic driven style.
Therefore, a well-rounded party song, although arguably betraying their guitar-driven indie roots
